Second Temple Synagogue Found

Remains of Jesus-era synagogue found in Israel – A synagogue that was built some time between 50 BC and 100 AD has been found at Migdal.  The article notes that Jesus may have preached in this synagogue since it is located near the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus frequently ministered.  Barring a new find, there is no evidence that Jesus actually did preach in this synagogue (though it is of course possible).  An imprint of a menorah was found at the site that may be a replica of the menorah that was in the Jerusalem Temple (the temple was destroyed in 70 AD).
